Kind Regards
As memorials represent something or someone who has passed, it is a reminder of what was before, a memory, but for larger events, memorials also carry a message. A memorial for the great war is both a mourning for the fallen and a symbol of horror and honour, but it also carries the message that this shall not be repeated, nor taken lightly. But what is left after thousands, or even millions of years, what sort of memorial will exist for the entirety of human kind?
This memorial sign is an interpretation of a symbol for humanity, and what I would like future humans, extra-terrestrials or another intelligent species, as well as modern people to know about the homo sapiens. It explores communication other than written and spoken language, such as: code, star position, and visual interpretation. Furthermore, the piece displays a species of complexity and destructiveness, and how we are intelligent on our own, but our collective knowledge is what makes us brilliant and dangerous.
